Ajijic

Ajijic is a small town settled in the shores of Chapala Lake, is a pintoresque turistic village 3 miles from, and a part of, the municipality of Chapala, in the State of Jalisco, Mexico. Situated on the north shore of Lake Chapala, surrounded by mountains and hills, Ajijic enjoys a moderate climate year round. The population is around 15,000.

The Chapala region, especially Ajijic, has become a destination for Americans and Canadians, either escaping the high cost of living north of the border, or freezing winters in Canada. These reasons, along with the agreeable climate, have increased the area's population and it appears this trend may continue, as the baby boomers reach retirement age.

How sad you can no longer parade your children in a BAR! It is a place for adult drinking, not a place for children to take time from adult singers. If you want to show off your kids, get a kiddies bar and see how many people come to hear them. They applauded the first time you brought them, because everyone thought it was a one off, but when you kept bringing them, it was time to complain. How inconsiderate and selfish you are, and setting a terrible example for your children by complaining.

Mama's was the place for me and my family especially Friday night until I was asked not to bring my children that sang karaoke and had a wonderful meal. Until, I was advised that clients complained about my children taking up obviously precious time, in singing to standing applause, I was originally asked to return many times by the ownership and patrons because of my daughters singing ability until this Friday, when I was told that some patrons complained about children being in the restaurant bar, which has excellent food. I thought, that we were in Mexico, but I guess some of the older folks from the North have forgot that they too were children once and we here are not North Americans. I really, feel sorry for these people, that emailed their complaint, but understand that Mama's is looking to please this crowd and has forgot about us local Mexicano's that come all year round to eat and enjoy and not just 6 months of the year. However, I know in my heart, that this is their loss and not my children's. God Bless, Mama's was a very fun place.
